About Grade 2 Social Studies
Grade 2 social studies (2nd grade, ages 7β8) is 40 lessons in 5 units: My Community and Country (lessons 1β8), The World Around Us (lessons 9β16), Economy and Work (lessons 17β24), Time and History (lessons 25β32), and finally Projects and Global Action (lessons 33β40), project work that brings the year together. Along the way, children learn to identify traditional music and art forms from different countries, explain the difference between a need (something required to survive) and a want (something desired but not required) and put transportation types in order from oldest to newest.
