Mini Lesson

You started this year as a curious Grade 2 learner. Today you finish as a thinker, a helper, an explorer, a historian, and a global citizen. That is worth celebrating with everything you’ve got!

What you have accomplished — 40 lessons across five units

  • My Community and Country — You explored your community, learned about leaders and rules, celebrated traditions, and practiced being a responsible citizen.
  • The World Around Us — You located continents and oceans, met children from different countries, and learned why peace matters for everyone on Earth.
  • Economy and Work — You discovered how goods, services, and money work, sorted needs from wants, and even ran your own market day!
  • Time and History — You built personal and family timelines, met famous inventors and explorers, and uncovered the stories of your own community’s past.
  • Projects and Global Action — You created a culture poster, planned neighborhood improvements, designed a peace message, traveled the world, cleaned up your community, and made environmental art.

What a global citizen knows

  • The world is full of different people, languages, foods, and traditions — and every single one has value.
  • History matters because it shows us where we came from and helps us make better choices in the future.
  • Even a Grade 2 learner can make a difference — through kindness, civic action, and caring for the Earth.

What comes next?

  • Keep exploring! Visit a local museum, ask an older family member about their history, try a food from a different culture, or volunteer in your community.
  • In Grade 3, you will go even deeper — studying regions, economies, and global issues as a more experienced thinker.
