What is respect?

• Example: Waiting your turn to speak instead of interrupting shows respect for others.

What is equality?

• Equality means that every person deserves to be treated fairly and with the same basic dignity, regardless of their background, appearance, language, or ability.
• Equality does not mean everyone is the same — it means everyone has the same right to be treated fairly.
• Example: Making sure every kid gets a turn to answer questions in a group shows equality.

How we show respect and equality every day

• Include everyone in games and group activities — no one should be left out.
• Listen to others without interrupting, even if their opinion is different from yours.
• Use kind and polite words, especially when disagreeing with someone.
• Help someone who is struggling, even if they look or speak differently from you.
• Stand up for someone who is being treated unfairly.
