About Grade 2 Math
Grade 2 math (2nd grade, ages 7β8) is 40 lessons in 5 units: Numbers and Place Value (lessons 1β8), Addition and Subtraction (lessons 9β16), Multiplication and Division Basics (lessons 17β24), Shapes, Time, and Measurement (lessons 25β32), and finally Data and Money (lessons 33β40), project work that brings the year together. Along the way, children learn to use a number line to model both addition and subtraction and mark the start, skip count by 2s, 5s, and 10s on a number line and place a ruler correctly with the zero mark at the start of an object.
