🟡 SOCIAL STUDIES (40 Lessons)🟡 C. My Country and the World

← Back to Level 1

Objective

I can say that people live in many countries, notice similar and different things, and speak about everyone in a kind way.

Materials

Mini-lesson — People around the world

People live in many countries around the world.

Some things can be the same

  • All people need food, water, and homes.
  • Children everywhere can play and learn.
  • Families can love and care for each other.

Some things can be different

  • People may speak different languages.
  • They may wear different clothes.
  • Homes and streets can look different.
  • Games, music, and ways to say "hello" can be different.

How do we talk about people?

  • Use kind words.
  • Say things like "That is another way to live."
  • Do not say one country is "better" than another.
  • Remember: everyone is important.

People from other countries are not strange. They are people like us, with their own homes, hopes, and ways of life.

  3. Under your drawing, write or trace one same thing (for example, "We play." or "We learn.").
  4. On the side, write or trace one different thing (for example, "Homes look new." or "They say hello in another way.").
  5. At the bottom, write or trace a kind sentence, such as "We can be friends." or "All people matter.".
  6. Read your page aloud to an adult. Use a calm and kind voice.
