Objective

I can write a friendly note with a greeting, a short message, a closing, and my name.

Materials

Mini-lesson — A friendly note has 4 parts

A friendly note is a short message you write to someone you know. It is quick, kind, and easy to read.

The 4 parts

  • Greeting: Who is it for? Hi Mia, or Dear Dad,
  • Message: 1–3 short sentences
  • Closing: From, or Your friend,
  • Name: Write your name on the next line

Comma rule

  • Put a comma after the greeting name: Hi Mia,
  • Put a comma after the closing: From,

Quick check: "Did I include all 4 parts and keep it friendly and clear?"
