How to use: Print first for the main practice. Then use the device to repeat activities and save progress.

Objective

I can write about my best vacation memory using time order words, strong details, and my feelings.

Materials

Mini-lesson — The best memories have clear details

A vacation memory is easier to read when you add clear details. Tell what you saw, heard, or did so the reader can picture it.

Use this simple plan

  • Start: Where did you go? What was your best moment?
  • Middle: Add 2–3 details (what you did, what you noticed, who you were with).
  • End: Tell how you felt and why it mattered to you.

Time order words

  • First, Next, Then, Finally

Quick check: "Did I add details someone else can picture?"

Drag & Drop — Build each vacation memory paragraph

Drag the best sentences into order: start, detail, detail, ending.

My best vacation memory was at the beach. First we walked on warm sand near the water. Then I splashed in cool waves and built a tall sandcastle. That moment made me feel calm and happy. My teacher read a story in class. I packed my backpack before school.
My favorite vacation memory happened in the mountains. First we rode in the car past tall trees and rocks. Next I smelled fresh air and heard birds singing nearby. In the end I felt peaceful and safe. My brother dropped his crayons at school. I ate toast in the kitchen before class.
My best memory from vacation was visiting a zoo. First I saw tall giraffes and sleepy lions with my family. Then I heard monkeys screech and watched seals splash in the water. That memory still makes me smile. My friend shared crayons with me in art class. I cleaned my room after lunch at home.
My best vacation moment happened on a boat ride. First the wind touched my face and the water sparkled below. Then I heard gulls above me and saw the sun shine on the waves. That memory felt exciting and bright. My teacher wrote spelling words on the board. I tied my shoes in the hallway at school.
My favorite vacation memory was eating dinner by the sea. First we sat outside and watched the sky turn orange. Then I tasted warm food and listened to the waves nearby. In the end I felt thankful to be there. My class planted seeds in science time. I sharpened my pencil before writing.
My best vacation memory was playing in the snow. First I put on my boots, coat, and gloves. Then I threw snowballs and laughed with my family outside. That was my favorite part of the whole trip. My friend lost her pencil in class. I read a library book before bed.
