Objective

I can write about a day that made me proud using time order words, details, and feelings.

Materials

Mini-lesson — Proud writing has details and feelings

A proud moment is a time you did something hard, helpful, or brave. Good writing helps the reader understand what happened and why it mattered.

Use this simple plan

  • What happened? Tell the main event.
  • How did you feel? Use feeling words (proud, nervous, excited).
  • Why were you proud? Tell the reason (I practiced, I tried again, I helped).

Helpful time order words

  • First, Next, Then, After that, Finally

Quick check: "Did I tell what happened, how I felt, and why I felt proud?"

Drag & Drop — Build each proud-moment paragraph

Drag the best sentences into order: start, detail, detail, ending.

One day I felt proud during reading class. First I practiced my page again and again at home. Then I read aloud in front of the class with a strong voice. That moment made me feel brave and proud. My dog slept under the table after dinner. I packed my lunch in the kitchen.
I felt proud when I finished a hard math page. First I looked at the problems and took a deep breath. Next I worked slowly and checked each answer carefully. In the end I felt proud because I did not give up. My sister drew a rainbow in the yard. We ate soup and bread at home.
I was proud when I learned to ride my bike. First I held the handlebars tight and started slowly. Then I pedaled by myself without falling down. That day made me feel strong and excited. My teacher wrote spelling words on the board. I sharpened my pencil before class.
I felt proud when I helped clean the classroom. First I picked up paper and pushed in the chairs. Then my teacher thanked me for being helpful. That made me feel responsible and proud. My cousin kicked a ball in the park. We drove to grandma's house after lunch.
I felt proud after finishing my art project. First I drew my idea with care on the paper. Then I colored it neatly and added bright details. In the end I felt proud of my hard work. My brother found a toy under the couch. I ate an apple before recess.
I was proud when I sang in front of others. First my hands felt shaky and my heart beat fast. Then I took a breath and sang the whole song. That moment showed me I could do hard things. My uncle watered the garden after dinner. I folded my sweater and put it away.
