Materials

Mini-lesson — Writing a clear list

A list helps your brain stay organized. It keeps ideas neat and easy to follow. The best lists are short, clear, and easy to scan.

One item per line

  • Each line has one thing.
  • That keeps the list clean and readable.
  • No crowded lines.

Bullets or numbers

  • Use a bullet for a regular list.
  • Use numbers when order matters.
  • Start each line the same way.

Keep words short

  • Lists are not long sentences.
  • Use the fewest words that still make sense.
  • Neat spacing makes it even clearer.

Check off when done

  • When you finish an item, mark it off.
  • That shows progress and keeps you focused.

Quick reminder: one item per line • bullets or numbers • short, clear words
