Objective
I can write a thank-you note with a greeting,
specific thanks, one kind detail, and a closing.
Materials
- Sharpened pencil
- Eraser
- Ruled paper (primary lines preferred)
Mini-lesson — A simple thank-you note
A thank-you note is short, friendly, and clear.
It tells someone what you are thankful for and why it mattered.
Greeting
- Start with Dear and a name.
- Add a comma: Dear Grandma,
Say thank you (be specific)
- Say what you are thankful for.
- Example: Thank you for the book.
Add one kind detail
- Say how it helped or how it made you feel.
- Example: I loved reading it before bed.
Closing + name
- End with Love, or Sincerely,
- Write your name on the next line.
Keep it simple:
"Dear ___, Thank you for ___. I liked ___. Love, ___."

Guided Practice — Neat note lines
Choose 3 sentences from the Trace menu and copy them neatly on paper.
Then use the Tracing Pad to practice words, sentences, and marks.

a greeting, a thank-you message, and a closing.
