How to use: Print first for the main practice. Then use the device to repeat activities and save progress.

Objective

I can write clear sentences about things I like to do using an action word, adding a simple detail, and ending with a period.

Materials

Mini-lesson — Write about what you like to do

Writing about your favorite activities is easy when you use a simple plan: start, say the action, and add one detail.

Start with “I”

  • The word I is always a capital.
  • Start your sentence with I.
  • End the sentence with a period.

Use an action word

  • Action words tell what you do: play, read, draw, run.
  • Action words make your sentence clear.
  • One strong action word is enough.

Add one simple detail

  • Where? outside, at the park, at home
  • What? books, pictures, blocks
  • How? fast, quietly, carefully

Finish neatly

  • Use spaces between words.
  • Check the first letter and the last mark.
  • Capital I. Period .

Ask yourself: "Did I use a capital I? Did I use an action word? Did I end with a period?"
