Materials

Mini-lesson — Short sentences about my family

Today you will write short sentences about your family. Each sentence should be clear and easy to read.

Use My to describe people in your family

  • Use My to start a sentence about your family.
  • Example: My mom is kind.
  • Example: My dad is funny.

Use family words

  • Family words can be mom, dad, sister, brother, grandma, or grandpa.
  • Keep the sentence short so the handwriting stays neat.

Capitals, spaces, and a period

  • Start with a capital letter.
  • Leave finger spaces between words.
  • End with a period.

Ask yourself: "Did I start with a capital? Can I see each word? Did I end with a period?"
