Objective
I can write short sentences about myself using
I and my, with a capital letter at the start
and a period at the end.
Materials
- Sharpened pencil
- Eraser
- Ruled paper (primary lines preferred)
Mini-lesson — Writing about me with I and my
Today you will write sentences about you.
Good “about me” sentences are short, true, and easy to read.
Use I to talk about yourself
- When the sentence is about you, use the word I.
- I is always written with a capital I.
- Example: I am six.
Use my to show something is yours
- Use my when something belongs to you.
- Example: my name, my pet, my bike.
- Example: My name is Sam.
Keep it neat
- Start with a capital letter.
- Leave finger spaces between words.
- Finish with a period.
Ask yourself:
"Is this about me? Do I have capitals, spaces, and a period?"
