Focus and attention strategies

Attention is the spotlight your brain uses to do real work. Wherever the spotlight points, learning happens. Wherever it does not, almost nothing sticks. The good news is attention is a muscle: it gets stronger with the right kind of practice, and weaker when you let phones, tabs and group chats pull it in ten directions at once. In Grade 6 you can train the focus muscle on purpose, with simple strategies that fit homework, class and tests.
