Compare book to film adaptation

An adaptation is a version of a story retold in a different medium. When a novel is turned into a film, the filmmakers must translate words on a page into images, sound, and performance. Because the two media work very differently, adaptations almost always involve changes \u2014 some small, some significant. Comparing a book to its film adaptation sharpens your understanding of both storytelling forms.
