How to use: Print first for the main practice. Then use the device to repeat activities and save progress.

Objective

I can create a funny story with a clear problem, silly details, and a playful ending.

Materials

Mini-lesson β€” Create humorous or funny stories

Funny stories still need structure. They work best when the situation is clear and one or two silly details make the reader laugh.

Helpful steps

  • Start with a clear situation.
  • Add one silly problem or surprise.
  • Keep the story easy to follow.
  • End with a funny but sensible finish.

Example

  • The dog wore my backpack and walked to school first.
  • The image is silly, but the sentence is still clear.

Ask yourself: β€œIs my writing clear, strong, and easy to follow?”

Guided Practice β€” Warm up the idea

Choose 3 sentences from the Trace menu and copy them neatly on paper. Then use the Tracing Pad to practice words, sentences, and marks.
