How to use: Print first for the main practice. Then use the device to repeat activities and save progress.

Objective

I can write a short script with characters, dialogue, and stage directions.

Materials

Mini-lesson — Write plays or short scripts

A script is writing for people to act out. It tells who is speaking and sometimes what the characters do.

Helpful steps

  • List the characters first.
  • Write each speaker’s name before the line.
  • Keep dialogue clear and short.
  • Add simple stage directions when needed.

Example

  • Mia: We need to hurry to the bus.
  • The speaker’s name shows who says the line.

Ask yourself: “Is my writing clear, strong, and easy to follow?”

Guided Practice — Warm up the idea
