Materials

Mini-lesson

Writing about kindness is strongest when you explain the action, the people, and the effect.

Tell what happened

  • Start with one clear sentence about the kind act.
  • Example: I helped my neighbor carry groceries.

Tell who was helped

  • Name the person or group who needed help.

Tell why it mattered

  • Explain how the act helped or how it made people feel.
  • Example: She smiled because the bags were heavy.

Ask yourself: "Does every sentence help explain my main idea?"
