Grade 3 · Reading · Lesson 25

Read with Proper Tone and Pace

When we read aloud, the words on the page are only half the message. Tone and pace bring the words to life. Tone is the feeling or emotion in your voice — happy, sad, tense, mysterious. Pace is how fast or slow you read. A skilled reader adjusts both to match what the text is saying.
