Mini-lesson — Adventures have a problem to solve
An adventure story is an exciting story where a character faces a challenge and keeps going.
Your job is to help the reader see the story and follow what happens.
A strong adventure story has 4 parts
Character: Who is the story about?
Setting: Where does it happen?
Problem: What goes wrong or needs to be fixed?
Solution: How does the character solve it?
Quick planning trick
Beginning: Meet the character and place.
Middle: The problem happens.
End: The solution and how the character feels.
Try this: add one strong action word in each sentence (ran, climbed, grabbed, dashed, whispered).
Guided Practice — Plan 3 story sentences
Choose 3 sentences from the Trace menu and copy them neatly on paper.
Try to make them sound like beginning, middle, and end.
