✍️ WRITING (40 Lessons)🟠 E. Project & Review

← Back to Level 1 Writing

How to use: Print first for the main practice. Then use the device to repeat activities and save progress.

Objective

I can read my writing aloud to make sure it sounds right and makes sense.

Materials

Mini-lesson — Read it out loud

When you read your writing out loud, your ears can catch mistakes your eyes miss. It helps you find missing words, funny sentences, and the wrong ending mark.

Read slowly

  • Point to each word as you read.
  • If you run out of breath, the sentence may be too long.

Pause at punctuation

  • Stop a tiny bit at a period.
  • Raise your voice at a question mark.
  • Sound excited at an exclamation mark.

Listen for mistakes

  • Did you skip a word? Add it.
  • Did a word sound wrong? Fix it.
  • Does it make sense? If not, rewrite it simply.

Read it one more time

  • After you fix it, read it again.
  • Now it should sound smooth and clear.

Ask yourself: "Did my sentence sound right when I read it out loud?"

Guided Practice — Practice reading with pauses

Choose 3 sentences from the Trace menu and copy them neatly on paper. Then use the Tracing Pad to practice words, sentences, and marks.
