← Back to Level 1 Writing

How to use: Print first for the main practice. Then use the device to repeat activities and save progress.

Objective

I can end a sentence with a period, leave a space after it, and check my writing for complete sentences.

Materials

Mini-lesson — Making sentences look finished

Punctuation is a tiny mark that helps your writing feel finished and easy to read.

What does a period do?

  • A period means: This sentence is done.
  • It goes at the end of a telling sentence.
  • It is small, but it matters a lot.

Space after the period

  • After the period, leave one space.
  • That space helps the next sentence start clearly.

Quick check for complete sentences

  • Read it in your head.
  • When your voice would stop, add a period.
  • Then add one space and keep going.

Ask yourself: "Did I finish my idea? Did I add a period and one space?"

Guided Practice — Punctuation warm-up

Drag & Drop — Build finished sentences

Build each sentence in the correct order. Put the period at the end. When there are two sentences, end the first one, then leave one space before the next sentence starts.

I like to read .

We play at the park .
I see a cat .
She has a red hat .
We can help Mom .
We run . We jump .
