Objective

I can create a simple dream invention poster. I can show what my invention does, who it helps, and how people and tech or AI helpers might work together, while people stay in charge.

Materials

Mini-lesson — What goes on an invention poster?

A poster helps us share our idea with other people. A dream invention poster shows what your idea is and why it is helpful.

Parts of a dream invention poster

  • A title with the name of your invention.
  • A clear picture of what it looks like.
  • Short sentences that say what it does.
  • A sentence that says who it helps (people, animals, or the planet).

Adding tech or AI helpers

  • Some inventions use technology or AI helpers.
  • The poster can show how AI might give ideas, plans, or checklists.
  • We remember that people still build, test, and guide the invention.

Kind, safe, and helpful ideas

  • Inventions should be kind and safe.
  • We ask: "Who does this help? Is it good for others?"
  • We do not choose ideas that hurt, tease, or damage things on purpose.

People are still the boss

  • People choose what goes on the poster.
  • People decide how the invention should be used.
  • We can write: "People are in charge of this invention and any AI helpers."

Adults can say: "Your poster will show a kind, safe, and helpful dream invention, with people guiding the tech."

Guided Practice — Plan the parts of your poster

Use this planning activity to help your child get ready to make their dream invention poster.

  1. Ask: "Which invention idea do you like best so far?" (from earlier lessons or a new idea).
  2. On paper, draw four boxes and label them: Title, Picture, What it does, Who it helps.
  3. In the Title box, help your child choose a short name (for example: "Clean Bot", "Tree Pal", "Kind Helper").
  4. In the Picture box, make a quick sketch of the invention. It can be very simple.
  5. In the What it does box, write one short sentence like: "It picks up litter from beaches." or "It helps me remember homework."
  6. In the Who it helps box, write a sentence such as: "It helps families and the Earth." or "It helps animals in the sea."
  7. Add one more line: "People are in charge of this invention and any AI helpers."
  8. Say: "Now we have a plan. Next we will turn this into your dream invention poster."

Practice — Make your dream invention poster

Use this page to turn your child’s plan into a full dream invention poster.

  1. Give your child a larger page turned portrait or landscape.
  2. At the top, help them write a big title with the name of their invention.
  3. In the centre, they draw a clear picture of the invention.
  4. On one side, help them write a short sentence: "It helps by ______." (for example: "It helps by cleaning beaches.")
  5. Under that, add: "It helps ______." (people, animals, the planet, or a mix).
  6. Near the bottom, write: "People are in charge of this invention and any AI helpers."
  7. Let your child decorate the edges with small symbols like hearts (kind), leaves (Earth), and light bulbs (ideas).
  8. Hang the finished poster on a wall or fridge and say: "You made a kind, helpful future idea and showed it clearly."
