Grade 6 · Writing · Lesson 30

Edit for concision and clarity

Concise writing says as much as possible in as few words as possible — without sacrificing meaning. Clear writing makes the meaning immediately obvious to the reader. In persuasive media, both qualities matter: a cluttered or confusing sentence loses the audience before it makes its point. Editing for concision and clarity is not about writing shorter — it is about writing stronger.
