Grade 6 · Writing · Lesson 10

Blend dialogue, pacing and description

Skilled narrative writers do not treat dialogue, description, and pacing as separate tools — they weave them together. A single conversation can slow the story to a crawl or accelerate it to a sprint depending on how much description and action you layer in. Mastering this blend is what separates flat, talking-heads scenes from vivid, cinematic storytelling.
