Integrate quotations and paraphrases

Good writers never simply drop a quotation into their essay without preparation. They integrate it — connecting it to their own argument with a signal phrase, correct punctuation, and an attribution so the reader knows exactly where the words came from. The same applies when you paraphrase: the idea belongs to another writer, so credit must always be given.
