ChatGPT Basics and Safety

A chatbot like ChatGPT is an AI assistant you can talk with by typing. You send a message called a prompt, the assistant writes back a reply, and you can keep the conversation going by adding follow-up questions. The chatbot is fast and helpful, but it does not always know the latest facts and it can make mistakes — so you always check its work and you always protect your privacy.
