Grade 6 · SEL · Lesson 38

Service learning reflection

Service learning is the deliberate mix of doing something useful for a community AND learning from it on purpose. The doing matters — somebody is helped, a real need is met. The learning matters too — you walk away with new skills, new understanding of people, and a clearer sense of who you want to be. Without the doing, it is just talk. Without the learning, it is just a chore. Grade 6 is the year you stop waiting to be told to help and start noticing the need yourself.
