Perform scenes from a script

A script is a written text designed to be performed. Unlike a novel, a script does not tell you what characters think — it shows what they say and do. Stage directions are the instructions inside brackets or parentheses that tell performers how to move, where to stand, and how to deliver their lines. Reading those directions carefully is the first step to a strong performance.
