Read aloud with phrasing and emphasis

Reading aloud well is not just saying the words correctly — it is performing them. Skilled readers break sentences into natural phrases, stress the words that carry the most meaning, and vary their pace and volume to match the mood of the text. These three skills — phrasing, emphasis, and pace — transform a flat recitation into a compelling reading.
