Grade 5 · Social Studies · Lesson 40

Social studies showcase day

Today is your SHOWCASE DAY - the year-end celebration of everything you learned in social studies. The classroom turns into a museum. Each student sets up a STATION: a small display showing your best work from one of the five domains - GEOGRAPHY (poster, map), HISTORY (timeline, primary source report), CIVICS (rights & branches report), ECONOMICS (budget or supply/demand project), or CITIZENSHIP (global awareness poster). Visitors will be other students, teachers, and families. Your job: choose work, build a station, prepare a 1-minute talk, host visitors with respect, and end with reflection and thanks. This is not a test - it is a CELEBRATION of the work you already did.
