Local history research project

A LOCAL HISTORY PROJECT is a small piece of research about something close to home — a building on your street, the family that founded your neighborhood, an old factory, a park, a person who made a difference. Big history (presidents, wars, inventions) is in every textbook. Local history is hiding in plain sight: in old photos, on plaques, in your grandparents\u2019 stories. A historian\u2019s job is to find it, check it, and tell it accurately.
