Compare Book and Movie Versions

When a book is turned into a film, the director must make many decisions. Some changes are necessary — film is a visual medium with a time limit. Other changes reflect the director\'s interpretation of the theme. Comparing both versions is a powerful reading skill: it sharpens your understanding of what makes each medium unique.
