Discuss Lessons and Morals

A moral is the lesson a story teaches about how to act, treat others, or approach life. Morals are closely related to themes — but while a theme is a broader message about life, a moral is a specific lesson about behavior. Fables and folk tales often state the moral directly, but in longer stories the reader must infer it.
