Mini Lesson

A responsibility is a duty or task you are expected to do — something that others are counting on you to take care of. We all have responsibilities at home and during lessons.

What is a responsibility?

  • A responsibility is a task or behavior that someone is expected to carry out reliably.
  • Example: Setting the table before dinner is a home responsibility — it helps the family.
  • Responsibilities show others that you are trustworthy and care about the people around you.

Responsibilities at home

  • Making your bed each morning.
  • Setting or clearing the table at mealtimes.
  • Feeding or caring for a pet.
  • Putting your belongings away neatly.
  • Taking out the trash when it is full.

Responsibilities during lessons

  • Arriving on time and ready to learn.
  • Listening when your grown-up is speaking.
  • Completing and handing in assignments.
  • Treating others and shared learning materials with respect.
  • Cleaning up your work area before leaving your lesson table.

Vocabulary
Responsibility
A duty or task someone is expected to carry out reliablye.g. Feeding the family pet is a responsibility I take seriously.
Duty

Trustworthy
