📘
Mini Lesson
The Earth gives us everything we need — clean air, fresh water, soil to grow food, and beautiful places to live. Environmental responsibility means making choices that protect and care for the natural world around us.
What is environmental responsibility?
- It means acting in ways that protect the environment rather than harming it.
- Example: Recycling paper and plastic reduces waste and saves natural resources.
- Every citizen shares this responsibility — we all depend on a healthy planet.
Responsible actions — the three Rs
- Reduce — use less water, electricity, and materials.
- Reuse — find new uses for items instead of throwing them away.
- Recycle — sort waste so materials can be made into new products.
- Also responsible: planting trees, picking up litter, turning off lights, and walking or cycling instead of driving.
Irresponsible actions
- Littering — leaving trash in public spaces or nature.
- Wasting water — leaving taps running unnecessarily.
- Cutting down trees without replanting.
- Dumping chemicals or waste into rivers or soil.
💡
Ask yourself: "Does this action help or hurt the environment? Would I want everyone in the world to do the same thing?"
