Understanding Consequences

A consequence is the result or outcome that follows a choice or action. Every decision you make — big or small — leads somewhere. Some consequences are positive (good outcomes you want), and some are negative (outcomes that create problems). Understanding consequences before you act is a key part of responsible decision-making.
