Lesson 40: Celebrate Our Writing Progress
✍️ WRITING (40 Lessons) • 🟠 E. Writing Projects
Objective
I can reflect on how my writing improved, share a favorite piece, and celebrate progress with kind feedback and goals for next time.
Materials
- Writing portfolio or 2–3 favorite pieces
- Sticky notes or feedback slips
- Tracing Pad (below) for title banners, headings, or certificates
Tip: Use sentence starters for feedback: “I noticed…”, “I liked…”, “Next, try…”.
Mini-lesson — Reflect, Share, Celebrate
- Look back: What changed from Lesson 1 to now? Handwriting, sentence flow, structure, word choice?
- Choose pieces: Pick one favorite and one that shows the biggest growth.
- Share kindly: Author chair or gallery walk. Listeners give specific praise + one suggestion.
- Celebrate: Make a certificate, badge, or class shout-out for a skill you improved.
- Set a next-step goal: One small goal for Level 4 (e.g., stronger openings, richer details).
Video won’t be included when printing.
Guided Practice — Make a Celebration Badge/Certificate
Use the pad to design a simple badge or certificate for you or a partner.
- Trace title words: Author, Growth, Fluent, Detail, Punctuation.
- Add one sentence starting with: “I improved by…” or “Next, I will…”
- Optional: sketch a small icon (⭐ ✍️ 📖).
