Lesson 40: Celebrate Our Writing Progress

✍️ WRITING (40 Lessons)🟠 E. Writing Projects

← Back to Level 3

Objective

I can reflect on how my writing improved, share a favorite piece, and celebrate progress with kind feedback and goals for next time.

Materials

Tip: Use sentence starters for feedback: “I noticed…”, “I liked…”, “Next, try…”.

Mini-lesson — Reflect, Share, Celebrate

  1. Look back: What changed from Lesson 1 to now? Handwriting, sentence flow, structure, word choice?
  2. Choose pieces: Pick one favorite and one that shows the biggest growth.
  3. Share kindly: Author chair or gallery walk. Listeners give specific praise + one suggestion.
  4. Celebrate: Make a certificate, badge, or class shout-out for a skill you improved.
  5. Set a next-step goal: One small goal for Level 4 (e.g., stronger openings, richer details).

Guided Practice — Make a Celebration Badge/Certificate

Use the pad to design a simple badge or certificate for you or a partner.

  • Trace title words: Author, Growth, Fluent, Detail, Punctuation.
  • Add one sentence starting with: “I improved by…” or “Next, I will…”
  • Optional: sketch a small icon (⭐ ✍️ 📖).
