How to use: Print first for the main practice. Then use the device to repeat activities and save progress.

Objective

I can edit a partner’s story kindly by giving a compliment and a helpful suggestion.

Materials

Mini-lesson — Be kind and be helpful

Editing a partner’s story is teamwork. Your job is to help the writer improve while staying kind.

The kind feedback formula

  • Compliment: Say what you like.
  • Suggestion: Say one clear change that could help.

What to check

  • Capitals at the start
  • Periods, question marks, exclamation points
  • Missing words (does it make sense?)
  • One detail to make it clearer

Example

  • Compliment: I like your ending.
  • Suggestion: Can you add a period at the end?

Quick check: "Did I give one compliment and one helpful suggestion?"
