Science Day Exhibition

Congratulations — you have completed all 40 lessons of Grade 2 Science! Today is Science Day, your chance to share what you have learned and be proud of how far you have come. Science is not just a subject — it is the way we understand the world around us.

How to prepare your exhibition

• Choose your best project from the year — plant journal, weather chart, recycling sort, experiment report, or health poster.
• Set up a display with your project, any diagrams you drew, and a small label card showing your name and project title.
• Prepare a 2-minute presentation covering: what it was about, what you found, one science fact it shows, and one surprise.
• Practice saying each part aloud so it flows smoothly — do not read word-for-word from a script.

How to present like a scientist

• Speak clearly and point to your work as you explain each part.
• Use real science vocabulary — words like evidence, conclusion, habitat, and observation show your thinking.
• Answer audience questions with science reasoning, not just yes or no.
• If you do not know an answer, say so honestly — scientists admit the limits of their evidence.

A year of science — the four big units

• Living Things and Plants: characteristics of life, plant parts, how plants make food.
• Environment and Weather: habitats, food chains, the rain cycle, seasons, and human impact.
• Matter, Light, and Sound: solids/liquids/gases, heating and cooling, sound waves, magnets, and electricity.
• Body and Health: organs and systems, hygiene, balanced diet, exercise, sleep, and safety.
