Mini Lesson

Imagine you are on a trip to the beach or visiting your grandparents. A postcard is a small card you send through the mail to share your news! It has two sides — each side has a different job.

Side 1 — The Message Side

  • Start with a greeting: Dear Grandma,
  • Write one or two news sentences — something exciting you saw or did.
  • Example: We went to the beach today. The waves were so big!
  • End with a sign-off: Love, Jake.
  • Keep it short — a postcard is a tiny card, not a long letter!

Side 2 — The Address Side

  • Write the recipient's name first — the person you are sending it to.
  • Then write their street address on the next line.
  • Then their city and country.
  • Example: Grandma Rosa / 5 Maple Lane / Springfield.
  • Put a stamp in the top right corner — the post office needs it!
