Mini Lesson
Every person in the world is special β and that includes you! Social studies starts right here, with the most important topic of all: who you are.
Your identity
- Your name is your own special label β no one else in the world is exactly like you.
- You have an age that tells how many years you have been alive.
- You are in Grade 1 β that is the level of school you are studying.
Your family
- Your family is the group of people who love and care for you at home.
- Families come in all shapes and sizes β big, small, and everything in between.
Your home
- You live in a city or town β a place where many families live together.
- Your city is part of a bigger place called a community.
What makes you unique
- Your interests are the things you love to do β drawing, running, reading, building.
- No two people have exactly the same combination of name, family, home, and interests.
Ask yourself: "What is my name? Who is in my family? Where do I live? What do I love to do?
