Mini Lesson
Your family is one of the most important groups in your life β these are the people who love and care for you every day!
Who is in a family?
- A family can have a mom, a dad, brothers, sisters, grandparents, and more.
- Example: Mom and Dad are the parents β the grown-ups who take care of a child.
- Families come in all shapes and sizes. Some families are big; some are small.
Brothers, sisters, and siblings
- A brother is a boy who shares the same parents as you.
- A sister is a girl who shares the same parents as you.
- Together, brothers and sisters are called siblings.
Grandparents
- Your grandma (grandmother) is the mother of your mom or dad.
- Your grandpa (grandfather) is the father of your mom or dad.
What do family members do?
- Parents keep children safe, healthy, and loved.
- Every family member has a role β a special job they do in the family.
Ask yourself: "Who are the people in my family? What is each person's role? Do I have any siblings or grandparents?
