Mini Lesson
The Earth gives us everything we need — clean air to breathe, clean water to drink, food to eat, and beautiful places to play and explore. Taking care of the Earth is one of the most important ways we can show kindness to every living thing, now and in the future.
What does the Earth give us?
- Air — trees and plants make the oxygen we breathe every single moment.
- Water — rivers, rain, and oceans give us the water all living things depend on.
- Food — healthy soil and sun grow the food that feeds every person and animal.
- Home — forests, meadows, and oceans are home to millions of animals and plants.
How our choices affect the Earth
- Choices that help: recycling, picking up litter, saving water, turning off lights, planting seeds.
- Choices that harm: dropping litter, wasting water, leaving lights on, throwing away things that can be reused.
- Every single choice matters — even one child making better choices every day helps the Earth.
The three Rs
- Reduce — use less. Take only what you need.
- Reuse — use things again instead of throwing them away.
- Recycle — sort paper, plastic, and glass so they can be made into new things.
Ask yourself: "What is one small choice I can make today that helps the Earth? What would I say to a friend who dropped litter?
