Biodiversity and Conservation Plans

Look around any healthy forest, river, or coral reef and you will see something powerful: a HUGE variety of living things sharing the same place. Tall trees, tiny mosses, bright birds, beetles, fish, fungi, and bacteria you cannot even see. That variety of life is called BIODIVERSITY. The more biodiversity an ecosystem has, the stronger it is — like a team with many different skills. Today we will look at why biodiversity matters, what threatens it, and how scientists and citizens write a CONSERVATION PLAN to protect it.
