Grade 5 · Social Studies · Lesson 33

Research your heritage

HERITAGE is everything that passes from one generation to the next - family stories, languages, recipes, songs, holidays, places of origin, and the small daily habits that show where you come from. In this project lesson you will learn the five-step process researchers use to investigate their own heritage, and the difference between PRIMARY and SECONDARY sources. By the end you will know how to interview a family member, gather objects, organize findings by theme, and present them respectfully.
