Biodiversity & Conservation

Biodiversity is the variety of living things — plants, animals, fungi, and tiny microbes — found in a place. A rainforest has high biodiversity because thousands of species share the same forest. A parking lot has low biodiversity. The more variety an ecosystem has, the stronger and more stable it is, because every species plays a small part in keeping the whole system healthy.
