Apply Fractions in Measurements

Fractions appear every time we measure something in real life. US customary rulers show halves, quarters, eighths, and sixteenths of an inch. Metric rulers show halves and tenths of a centimeter. Cooking cups use 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 cup. Weighing scales show fractions of a pound or kilogram. Measuring jugs show fractions of a quart or liter. Knowing how to read, add, subtract, and convert fractional measurements is essential in cooking, building, and science — in BOTH unit systems.
