Write About Future Dreams

Some of the most powerful writing ever produced is about dreams — not the sleeping kind, but the wide-awake kind. Writing about your future is not daydreaming — it is a way of making the future feel real, possible, and worth working toward. The more specific your writing, the more powerful it becomes.

What this lesson teaches

1State a dream in one specific opening sentence that names exactly what the writer will do, become, or experience
2Explain why the dream matters using a personal memory, value, or experience connected with "because" or "since"
3List two or three specific, realistic steps in future tense — including at least one short-term and one long-term goal
4Close with a vivid future-tense image that includes at least one sensory detail of the dream come true
5Distinguish a dream (broad vision) from a goal (specific actionable step)
