Grade 3 · Writing · Lesson 19

Create a Mystery or Fantasy Story

A mystery works because the reader knows something is wrong — but not why. A fantasy story works because the reader enters a world where the impossible is suddenly possible. Both genres share one secret ingredient: they make the reader ask what is going on — and then pay off that question with a satisfying answer.
